The German Diaries Archive
The German Diaries Archive in the Old City Hall was founded in 1997. Since then it has been collecting and filing private diaries, letters and memoirs, making them accessible to research in history or literature and to the public.
These archives are unique in Germany. Anyone interested may go there to study the newspapers, join reading groups and deposit his/her own personal notes or those of their ancestors.
On request group visits of any kind can be arranged.
The German Diaries Museum is located in the same building. It dsplays and throws light on chosen documents in changing exhibitions.
