Stadt Emmendingen

Emmendingen is the capital of the administrative district « Emmendingen ». and is  situated picturesquely in the « Breisgau » between the Black Forest and the « Kaiserstuhl » in the Rhine Valley. The nearby cities of  Freiburg, Basel and Strasbourg  are the central capitals of the Trinational Upper Rhine Region.

By car …
Emmendingen is conveniently situated next to the motorway A5 between Offenburg and Basel. From the exit «Teningen» there are only 5 km to the centre of Emmendingen. You can also take the federal road B3 (Offenburg-Freiburg) running through the city.

By train …
You can just as easily reach Emmendingen by train. The city is located along the main railway line betweem Mannheim and Basel. The train stops at the main station of Emmendingen as well as in Kollmarsreute and  (Teningen-) Mundingen.

If you are travelling with the ICE please change trains at the main station in Freiburg and take  the next regional train leading to Offenburg which will  take you to Emmendingen  in less than 15 minutes.

You can reach Emmendingen from several airports. The closest airports are located in Lahr, Freiburg, Basel and Strasbourg, but those situated in Karlsruhe-Baden, Zurich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt are easy to reach as well.
